The Treaty of Antares was an armistice agreement between the Systems Commonwealth and the Magog.
After the end of the war with the Magog, the treaty at Antares was signed to ensure peace between the two sides. In exchange, the Magog were offered the Nietzschean planet Brandenburg Tor. The Quarantine Zone was established to keep the Magog out of Commonwealth and Nietzschean space.
With numerous Nietzschean worlds ravaged by the raids, Nietzscheans called for the complete annihilation of the Magog. Their pleas went unanswered. The Treaty of Antares convinced many Nietzscheans that the Commonwealth was weak, unable to protect its citizens, and therefore had to be replaced with a stronger government. Gaheris Rhade cited this as the key event which changed his own position on the topic.
