Capella is a real star in the night sky (also known as Alpha Aurigae - the brghtest star in the (northern sky) constellation of Auriga. Though it is a multiple-star system, it is not a yellow+blue combination ('lapis and gold' in the poem's description, lapis being a blue gemstones and gold being gold). That is probably a reference to Albireo (Beta Cygni) which is a well-known yellow-blue double star. Clearly the script writer knew his (or her) astronomy. 11:24, July 12, 2016 (UTC)

O Captain! My Captain!Edit

Beka's sarcastic line to Dylan is from another poem, this one from Walt Whitman. 11:24, July 12, 2016 (UTC)
