Lieutenant Jamal Rodriguez Hernandez Brown is the first descendant of the survivors from the evacuation of the Andromeda Ascendant at Hephaistos IV that the crew encounter. He bears a 300-year-old message from Sara Riley for Dylan Hunt, and is clearly somewhat overwhelmed to be face-to-face with such a historic, even legendary figure as the captain. He desperately wants to prove himself to his hero, and is lost fighting the fake Magog invasion staged by Rakel Ben-Tzion. He was also one of Sara Riley's great-grandsons cubed, 9 generations, direct line. ("Home Fires")
