3 Galaxies as a holographic projection.

Scylla and Charybdis
Overview[]
The Andromeda Galaxy is one of the 3 galaxies that make up the Local Group. The High Guard ship Andromeda Ascendant was named after it. It was known to possess twin black holes at the center of its 2 cores which Hasturi called Scylla and Charybdis. ("It Makes a Lovely Light")
The Andromeda galaxy is the largest galaxy in the Local Group, with a diameter of 220,000 light years, making it tens of thousands of light years larger than the Milky Way galaxy (which has a diameter of 170,000 to 200,000 light years). The galaxy is estimated to have a 1,000,000,000,000 stars, at least x2 as many as the Milky Way galaxy (which is estimated to have between 250,000,000,000 to 500,000,000,000 stars).
The Andromeda galaxy was the home galaxy of the Vedran Empire, the first interstellar power to have developed slipstream capability. Upon the empire's transformation into the Systems Commonwealth, it continued to be most important galaxy in the Local Group, the commonwealth was one that was led by the Vedrans. After the fall of the Systems Commonwealth, it was the home of the most powerful interstellar power, that of the Drago-Kazov Pride.
History[]
In 112 BIE, Vedran scientists discovered the slipstream, giving the Vedrans faster-than-light space travel. The Vedrans led by General Huascar nax Yoweri wage an intergalactic campaign of conquest, establishing the Vedran Empire in 0 CY. Which during the following centuries expanded from 2,000 worlds to nearly a million worlds, including colonies and outposts.
In 2937 CY, the Vedran Empress Yoweri XXIII died without a heir. During the 60 year War of Succession that followed, over a 1,000 worlds were devastated. Centuries later in 3336 CY, the Perseids were conquered, who quickly became a vital part of the empire's bureaucracy. In 4227 CY, the Vedran empire was officially dissolved and replaced by the democratic Systems Republic, with the Vedran Empress as its titular leader.
After centuries of peace, 9766 CY, the planet Brandenburg Tor was attacked in 9766 CY by the mysterious and savage Magog, who nearly slaughtered all of its 3 billion inhabitants. Decades of sporadic warfare between the Commonwealth and Magog followed, until the conflict ended in 9781 CY with the Treaty of Antares. One that angered the Nietzscheans and made them question their loyalty.
In 9784 CY, the Nietzschean rebellion began. The following year, Tarn-Vedra the Vedran homeworld and capital of the Commonwealth was mysteriously cut off from the Slipstream. By 9785 CY, most of the galaxy's inhabited worlds had been conquered by the Nietzscheans. The Magog returned in 9876 CY, attacking both Nietzchean and former Commonwealth worlds. In 9787 CY, the Nietzschean Alliance fell apart, due to Pride Jaguar's betrayal of the ruling Drago-Kazov Pride.
Decades later in 10021 CY, Kodiak Pride were betrayed by their allies, the Drago-Kazov Pride. In 10089 CY, the Second Systems Commonwealth was established and one of its founding members were the Perseids. Circa 10088-10090, the Second Systems Commonwealth Civil War began. In 10091 CY, upon the death of the Spirit of the Abyss and the end of the Second Systems Commonwealth Civil War, a new slipstream portal to Tarn-Vedra was created, reuniting it with the known worlds.
